How To Use An iPad With WiFi

iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G.

All iPad models come with built-in Wi-Fi. If you want to access the Internet in more places, choose iPad withWi-Fi + 4G and sign up for data service from AT&T or Verizon — right on your iPad.

4G LTE. The fastest cellular network.

The new iPad supports fast cellular networks around the world — including 4G LTE networks in the U.S. and Canada.* So you can download content, stream video, and browse the web at amazing speeds. And if you’re in a location without a 4G LTE network, you’ll still get access to fast 3G networks including HSPA, HSPA+, and DC-HSDPA.

Ready to take on the world.

The new iPad offers the most comprehensive support for fast networks around the world. It’s designed with two cellular antennas tuned to 12 different bands that access a larger frequency spectrum. That means you can travel almost anywhere in the world and get online. And your connection is always fast. iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G models for AT&T and for Verizon connect to GSM/UMTS networks worldwide. But if you want a local connection when you’re traveling, just pop in a local SIM card.

Use iPad as a personal hotspot.

Where supported, iPad can share its high-speed data connection as a personal hotspot. You can connect up to five devices — such as a MacBook Air, an iPod touch, or another iPad — over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB.

Choose your iPad by carrier.

AT&T or Verizon.

If you decide on an iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G, be sure to select the model that corresponds with the carrier you’d like to use for 4G LTE service. The iPad model you purchase is specially configured to work with either AT&T or Verizon — not both. So while you don’t have to activate service right away, you should choose your iPad with Wi-Fi + 4G according to the carrier you prefer.

No contract. No long-term commitment.

When you decide to activate 4G LTE data service, you can choose the amount of data per month you want to buy — with no long-term contract. So if you have a business trip or vacation approaching, just sign up for the month you’ll be traveling and cancel when you get back.

Turn on 4G LTE data. Or turn it off. All from your iPad.

Tap Settings and choose Cellular Data. Then select a plan and enter your payment information.

Check your usage.

iPad lets you know when you’re about to reach your data limit so you can add more.

Adjust your plan.

If you want more data, you can sign up for a different plan — or cancel 4G LTE data service altogether — anytime, right from your iPad.
